Here the perfumes are not identifiable at first “smell” but there are unique mixes which all reinterprete a moment of history and bring the legend of French taste to light : Empire, Pondichéry, Chandernagor, Odeur de Lune, Odalisque or Carmelite, Empire, Dada…
And today a collection of eau de parfum, kept in precious bottles, with original and heady fragrances, imagined by perfumers Antoine Lie, Yann Vasnier and Lyn Harris: Elae, Aphédie, Médie, Bruma, Deux, Révolution, Mortel and Black Mortal. Fragrances that also tell a whole story and embody a personality more than a genre.
After the Puces de SaintOuen, Guilhem Faget and Alexandra Goult have arrived in Saint-Germain-des-Prés, the other design hot spot ! Their Light selection from the 50’s to the 70’s favours Maria Pergay, Gino Sarfatti, Pierre Paulin or less famous names like Ben Swildens or Xavier Féal. For Lucas Ratton, the passion for African art is a family heritage. His grandfather Maurice Ratton, and his great-uncle Charles Ratton, were both gallery owners of Arts Premiers, Maurice in Saint Germain des Prés, Charles in his famous apartment rue de Marignan. Great friends of the avant-garde artists of the 1920s, they were both at the origin of an appreciation of an art that had been underestimated until then.

In 1978, Andrée Putman created the Ecart company to reissue furniture from the 30s and 40s by Eileen Gray, Pierre Chareau and Jean-Michel Frank. Having become a legendary figure in design, she succeeded in developing a catalog of incredible coherence. However, she decided to sell the shares of her company in 1997, to devote herself to interior architecture, with the creation of the Putman studio.
Today Ecart International is reborn thanks to Pascal Lapeyre and Lucie Tonelli and reissues legendary masterpieces by designers from the first half of the 20th century, for which it owns the exclusive rights, but the house also wishes to welcome new talents, like Christophe Pillet or Bruno Moinard and don’t forget its creator either, since the works of Andrée Putman will be the subject of a reissue.
