PIZZA CHIC

An address which could only exist on the left bank, nestled into the busy streets of Saint-Germain-des-Prés where ‘chic’ is a religion in itself. But this contemporary, polished pizzeria (wood panelling, suspended lighting, design tiles and seating) isn’t the least bit ostentatious, with comfortably spaced tables, white tablecloths and silver cutlery, and the pizzas are amongst the best in Paris. Rare ingredients directly imported from Italy (special mozzarella – a mix of traditional and buffalo – lard from Colonnata, spicy Calabrian sausages, Taggiasca olives, anchovies from Salerno), perfectly thin and crunchy crusts and the generosity of the garnish, reminiscent of a Neopolitan family meal, makes them almost impossible to surpass. White (with no tomato base) or red, the pizzas are beautiful as well as delicious.

A place so peaceful a stone’s throw from Luxembourg that you quickly make it your healthy refuge. Power bowls for breakfast, cooked or raw organic vegetable salads, acai bowls, gluten-free club sandwiches and smoothies to die for for lunch. DA ROSA

Not just a restaurant, Da Rosa is also a delicatessen, a laboratory of flavors known to fine gourmets. Here you can find the products of great chefs such as Hélène Darroze or Joël Robuchon, but also the best hams, foie gras, cheeses, teas and caviars, take them home, have them delivered or taste them on site.

Several spaces and lounges, each with a different atmosphere: a first space for 14/15 people at a table for two, three or four people, and following on, under a small, very Parisian glass roof, a small room for 10 people. Then a living room, facing the totally open kitchen, and a little further away, in total discretion, the “Voyages” living room which can be privatized for around twenty people.

DUVELLEROY

In 2010, Eloïse Gilles and Raphaëlle de Panafieu, both from the world of luxury, fashion and passionate about crafts, decided to revive this original and so chic object that is the fan, by taking over the Maison Duvelleroy created in 1829 by Jean-Pierre Duvelleroy, supplier to Queen Victoria or the Empress of Russia.

Both wish to remain in line with a style and a know-how by preserving gestures – those of the work of the feather in marquetry for example – and shapes, like the so-called “balloon”, slightly rounded, inspired by shells St Jacques which is typical of the Art Nouveau Duvelleroy period. For the creation, they have also returned to the sources of the fan-making profession by calling on Frédéric Gay, who is in charge of assembly and assembly.

They are relaunching couture collections, with creative fans, but also the ready-to-wear fan, as it existed in the 19th century, in cotton and wood, pleated, hand-assembled and produced in small series. They also launched numerous collaborations with artists and designers such as Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, Lison de Caunes, José Lévy and Victor Cadène.

Frey makes fabrics and wallpapers in the purest French tradition. A wide collection of 7000 references which gathers together the creations signed Pierre Frey and those created by three other prestigious brands of the company : Braquenié, Fadini Borghi and Bouassac. Chahan Minassian is multitalented : he is an interior designer, a designer, an antique dealer and a gallery owner. He has a passion for the American furniture of the 1930s to the 1960s, he presents, in his gallery of the Rue de Lille, pieces by Vladimir Kagan, Paul Evans, Karl Springer, Tommi Parzinger, Paul Laszlo, Philip and Kelvin Laverne, Edward Wormley, Harry Bertoia… and just next to it, at number 12 rue de Beaume, he becomes again an interior designer and presents his style for international customers.

Three addresses in Paris, one in New York for this Gluten Free restaurant. The owner, Frédérique Jules, is herself gluten and lactose intolerant, so she knows what she is talking about and is following the WITH LOVE Allergenfree© movement. In her restaurants, she has surrounded herself with an American pastry chef and a Japanese chef, who offer tasty, gluten-free cuisine: hamburgers and sandwiches for snacks, but also more elaborate dishes with accents of fusion food. and of course for the desserts cookies, muffins and cakes.
