André Courrèges founded his fashion house in 1961, after working for Balenciaga. By 1964, his architectural, futuristic fashion, highly symbolic of the era with its mini skirts and mini dresses, had achieved international success. He used new technologies to eliminate hand-sewing as much as possible, synthetics for easy care, no pleats or darts… His little white dress would become iconic, like vinyl, his favorite material. Always faithful to his style, impervious to all new trends, he would let his house fall asleep a little before it was bought several times and the Kering group really relaunched it in 2017. Nicolas Di Felice, its current artistic director, says he is extremely respectful of the Courrèges style, its materials and its play on geometry; with each new piece he creates, he wonders if it would be approved by André Courrèges.

This is an address that did not remain confidential for long, as its success was so rapid, but the place and the treatments provided there are still unique and for us they are precious. In Latin Clemens means Calm (and beyond that Well-being), and this is the whole spirit that the spa team decided to give to the place by offering us aquatic experiences that allow us to really let go. Water being the element that soothes the mind and body par excellence, our original element, therefore certainly the most therapeutic.

The spa pools, which can be booked solo or as a duo, are located in the incredible setting of 18th century cellars. Here, we whisper to respect the very intimate space, lit by candlelight. It is in the freshwater pool and its 35-degree water that floating massage, sophrology or aquatic osteopathy are provided. The experience is astonishing: the practitioner’s movements are so fluid that at times it seems as if the body is establishing a kind of choreography, the amplitude of the movements erasing one by one all the tensions that we could previously feel. We then enter a bubble of well-being that makes us dive into the heart of ourselves, in an almost meditative state.

But beyond this muscular and psychological relaxation, aquatic massage also improves blood circulation and reduces pressure on the joints. It is therefore recommended for all ages and, in fact, the Clemens spa has created an aquatic treatment especially for babies aged 4 to 12 months (the spa is reserved for them in the morning). Accompanied by one or two parents and a practitioner, the child discovers water at an ideal temperature, which provides deep relaxation. Expectant mothers are also fond of this therapy.

The salt water pool offers completely different sensations: the two tons of Epson salt that were poured into it allow us to remain weightless in the water, to float in the candlelight. The experience, once again unique, also helps reduce muscle and joint pain, as well as stress and fatigue, thanks to the magnesium contained in the salt, which detoxifies and remineralizes.

Amin Kader has made French know-how one of his main values. After working alongside various couturiers such as Kenzo Takada and Azzedine Alaïa, the designer chose to set up his creative workshop in the heart of Paris, where all the couture items (dresses, shirts, trousers, coats, etc.) and leather goods are made. Each item is produced in limited series, in noble materials whose quality and origin have been carefully studied. From one season to the next, the models are reviewed, examined, corrected, until they become timeless pieces, which are enough to dress a silhouette.

The wardrobe created by Amin Kader is undoubtedly one of the most chic and refined there is: impeccable cuts, both fluid and structured, timeless. Cashmeres, silks, poplins, wool crepes, velvets, and the famous cashmere stoles and shawls that you can wear on your shoulders as if you were delicately placing them on a lovely ottoman!
